CAS-2: Rise of the Blood Olms
A downloadable dungeon
Beware the Blood Olms!
CAS-2: Rise of the Blood Olms is a starting adventure for Cairn Second Edition designed for new and experienced Wardens alike. The party must explore a newly discovered cave system in search of a lost expedition. But beware, for all is not as it appears!
The module is deadly, but characters can survive through critical thinking and careful exploration. If a party member dies, expediency is more important than verisimilitude. Designed for use with Cairn 2e, but easily adapted to any old-school roleplaying game.
The booklet version should be printed landscape, double-sided, short-side.

In case anyone, like me, needed clarification on the tree: It hangs from the ceiling roots-down. The boughs of the tree reach up into the cave roof. Exposed parts of the branches bear the fruit.
Hey Yochai, great work! I had a question about the mud sieve... but I found the answer on the Cairn discord, so uh... don't worry about that.
Running this to get into Cairn 2e prior to running Beyond the Pale (once I have the hardcopy)
I absolutely love this! It's tight, interwoven, full of flavour and nuance, and would be a breeze to run.
I did notice one thing that felt like a bit of a logical inconsistency: in the intro writeup (which is excellent, btw), it mentions that the Olms are blind. However, in C8, there are paintings on the walls telling their story. I know my players would immediately want to know how they painted without being able to see.
Regardless, thank you so much for writing this! It's outstanding, and I can't believe you're not charging for it.
The idea is that they didn't used to be blind, before the caves.
Ahhh, that makes sense. I should have picked that up. Thanks!
Just curious but why did you release CAS-2 before CAS-1 that is included in the KS?
Because CAS-1 was written and published before CAS-2. It takes place in the same world as well. It just so happened that CAS-1 was chosen for inclusion. In the future it won't matter, since CAS-1 will be available for download (it's been finished for like 4 months).
This is a small mistake on page 6. It says "The East exit slopes downward towards C5." This should say West. The east exit goes back to C3
Fixed!
Thanks.
One more small thing: at the beginning of the adventure High Lector is referred to as an Aurifex and in his statblock he is referred to as a scrivner. Both could be true just wanted to point it out.
Excellent adventure by the way! I'm going to run this today. it's awesome
Oh that's weird. Will fix!

A lovely circuit dungeon with a strong, easily digestible premise.
Recommend for any tabletop game that features dungeons. The ecology is a delight and the worldbuilding's value is self-evident and well-woven into the scenario presented here.
Yet to run it myself but will consider it when I've got a longer-running campaign again.
A great, short adventure that can be run as a one-shot or easily extended by an experienced Warden. Nice setup, interesting location with some really well-done environmental storytelling, and an emphasis on exploration; this is not just a bunch of monsters waiting behind doors.
It is also worth mentioning that the location/encounter descriptions are very well formatted and would be easy to reference at the table.
Thank you for the free adventure Yochai! Now I'm wondering which adventure is CAS 1...
I would also like to know...
I'm pretty sure it's the adventure included in the Kickstarter boxed set.
Nice, Thanks!
Sweet!! Great stuff
interesting read and novel colour. I'll most likely adapt it to 5e but that's me...
This is a really cool adventure that’s laid out in a really gettable way.
